This event is the collective story of 9 women who have each played a pioneering and pivotal role in building and evolving the field of service design over the last 15 years.

During the evening we will hear from each of them about the contexts they were in when they first developed their thinking and practice, what and who influenced them, and how they see the field evolving now.

As we move from speaker to speaker we’ll see how the baton has been passed, the practice evolved to fit the next context, and the field developed.

This is an opportunity to celebrate some of the people that really pioneered this discipline, paving the way for many of us, and to meet with others who work in the field of service design.

We know that there are many other service designers than can fill a stage for an hour who have helped shape and continue to influence how the service design field develops. We invited our networks to contribute to a map that will tell the wider story and charts how pioneers from genders who may often be in the minority have shaped the practice and acted as role models for others. This map will feature at the event and you can contribute to it here ->
